Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University published its round 1 provisional MBBS allotment on 27 August. 254 seats, three colleges, and every one of the 78 all-India quota seats went to the same college.

Three colleges, and that is the whole list

Delhi’s other government medical colleges are not counselled here. IP University runs the Delhi quota for these three institutions; the rest of the city’s MBBS seats are handled by the Medical Counselling Committee. If you are waiting on Maulana Azad or Lady Hardinge, you are waiting on the wrong authority.

Where the seats went by quota

173 seats went to the Delhi region quota (HS), 78 to the all-India quota (AI) and 3 to the other-state quota (OS).

All 78 all-India seats are at Army College of Medical Sciences. Army College also took no Delhi-quota open seat at all this round: its 19 remaining seats are 13 SC, 3 SC under the other-state quota, 1 ST and 2 in the physically handicapped pool. Open-category competition in Delhi this round runs through Rohini and Hindu Rao only.

Closing ranks, round 1

These are NEET UG 2026 All India Ranks, printed in the allotment list itself.

Rohini closing at 4,096 in the open pool and Hindu Rao at 4,982 puts Delhi’s quota among the hardest in the country, which is what happens when a large candidate base competes for 58 open seats. The all-India pool at Army College runs six times deeper, to 29,882.

The defence and physically handicapped sub-pools run far deeper still, from around 1.9 lakh to over 11 lakh, because each holds one or two seats. Read those as small-pool artefacts, not as a general cutoff.

The fee that decides whether you keep the seat

The allotment is conditional on paying Rs. 96,000 and clearing document verification. Worth noting for anyone reading the document itself: the header calls the amount a part academic fee and the closing line calls it a counselling participation fee. It is the same Rs. 96,000 in both places, but check the university’s payment notice for the deadline and the exact head rather than relying on either phrase.

The list is described as purely tentative. An allotment here is not an admission until the money and the documents both clear.

AIIMS New Delhi has issued revised reporting instructions for candidates allotted a seat there in the first round of MCC counselling. Reporting, verification and submission of original documents run from 25 to 31 August 2026, 9.30 am to 4.00 pm, at the Academic Section, Undergraduate Cell.

Two of those days are not working days

The admission procedure remains closed on 26 and 30 August 2026, being a holiday and a Sunday. A “25 to 31 August” window is really five working days, not seven. If you were planning to travel for the 26th or the 30th, you would arrive to a closed counter.

The full schedule

AIIMS notes that candidates should be prepared for an additional day’s stay, since joining and the medical examination may spill over to the next day. Academic fees are paid only after medical fitness is declared, and hostel allocation happens immediately after the hostel fee is deposited.

What to carry

Exam and counselling documents: the NEET application form or confirmation page, the original printed NTA scorecard and admit card, the provisional seat allotment letter from MCC, five passport photographs and a government photo ID.

Eligibility documents: the class 10 certificate showing date of birth, and the 10+2 certificate and marksheet showing 60% or more in aggregate across English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology (50% for SC/ST, 45% for persons with benchmark disability), plus a migration certificate.

Category documents, where applicable: an SC/ST certificate naming the community; an OBC-NCL certificate whose sub-caste tallies with the central list, in the prescribed format, with both the OBC and NCL certificates carried; an EWS certificate; and a disability certificate with the MCC medical assessment. OBC-NCL and EWS certificates issued from 1 April 2025 onward are valid for this admission.

Bring two sets of copies of everything. And note this: original certificates of candidates who join are retained by AIIMS and are not returned before the course is completed.

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University has notified the round 1 schedule for MBBS admission for the 2026-27 session. Registration, payment of the Rs. 2,500 fee, document upload and choice filling all open at 4.00 pm on 19 August 2026 and close at 11.59 pm on 21 August 2026.

The schedule

Choice filling is compulsory. A candidate who does not fill choices will not be considered for online allotment.

Which colleges GGSIPU actually counsels

This is the part most candidates get wrong. The university conducts counselling for the 85% Delhi state quota at only two colleges:

• North Delhi Municipal Corporation Medical College and Hindu Rao Hospital, 60 seats
• Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Medical College and Hospital, 125 seats

At both, the 15% All India Quota is filled by the Medical Counselling Committee, not the university.

For Vardhman Mahavir Medical College and Safdarjung Hospital (170 seats), Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Medical Sciences and Dr. RML Hospital (100 seats) and ESI PGIMSR, Basaidarapur (50 seats), all 100% of seats, both All India Quota and state quota, are counselled by the MCC. Candidates who want any of those three must register on the MCC website only.

Army College of Medical Sciences (100 seats) is counselled by the university, but admission is limited to children of eligible serving and ex-Army personnel and war widows or widows of the Army. The notification is explicit that children of Air Force, Navy and paramilitary forces including CRPF, BSF, ITBP, CISF, Assam Rifles, GREF and DSC are not eligible against those reserved seats.

The Delhi 10+2 rule

For the 85% state quota seats at Hindu Rao and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, a candidate must have studied both 11th and 12th in a recognised school or college in Delhi and passed the qualifying examination from a school or college located in Delhi. The university advises uploading the 11th class marksheet along with the 12th class marksheet in a single PDF.

Two other points

The category entered in the NEET UG 2026 application form cannot be changed. Admission is on NEET UG 2026 All India Rank, purely on merit, as per the qualifying percentile.

The Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Delhi, has opened document submission for candidates claiming entitlement or concession under the CW category, that is Children and Widows of Armed Forces personnel, for the 85 per cent Delhi quota in UG medical admissions for 2026.

The submission portal is open from 22 July to 29 July 2026, up to 5 PM. Eligible candidates should upload their documents through the Delhi University portal within this window.
