Gujarat has opened Round 2 registration for MBBS and BDS admissions, and it is open only to candidates who did not register in Round 1. Online registration runs from 1 September to 4 September 2026, till 4:00 PM. The PIN must be bought by 12:00 noon on 4 September, and document verification at a help centre runs from 2 September to 12:00 noon on 5 September.
If you already registered in Round 1, this window is not for you. Your Round 1 registration carries forward, and the Admission Committee for Professional Undergraduate Medical Educational Courses will use it for the second round.
Round 2 dates
- Online PIN purchase: 1 September to 4 September 2026, till 12:00 noon
- Online registration: 1 September to 4 September 2026, till 4:00 PM
- Help centre verification and submission of documents: 2 September to 5 September 2026, till 12:00 noon
Help centres work Monday to Friday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon. They are shut on Sundays and public holidays, which matters because 5 September is the last morning and there is no slack behind it.
What the PIN costs
The PIN is bought online at the committee's website and costs ₹11,000 in one payment: ₹1,000 as a non-refundable fee and ₹10,000 as a refundable security deposit.
There is a useful exception. If you bought the ₹11,000 PIN in Round 1 but never completed registration, or registered but never turned up at a help centre for verification, you do not need to buy a new PIN. You only need to complete the help centre verification and submit your documents.
After registering, book the help centre appointment yourself. You choose the date, time and centre while printing your registration receipt, and you carry self-attested copies of your documents to it.
Who can apply
You need to have passed Class 12 in the science stream, group B or AB, from a school in Gujarat affiliated to the Gujarat Board, CBSE, CISCE, Cambridge or the National Institute of Open Schooling, and to have qualified NEET UG 2026 on the All India Overall Rank. The admission rules of the Health and Family Welfare Department and of the relevant commission or council apply on top of that.
Two categories with extra steps
Local quota. Candidates applying for local quota seats at Smt. N.H.L. Municipal Medical College, Ahmedabad or Surat Municipal Institute of Medical Education and Research need a certificate showing they are a resident of Ahmedabad or Surat. It has to come from the Dean of that institution, so contact the college directly, and do it alongside the online registration rather than after it.
NRI candidates. Document verification happens only at the ACPUGMEC office at GMERS Medical College, Gandhinagar, not at a regular help centre. You also submit a demand draft of ₹10,000, non-refundable, in favour of “ACPUGMEC” and payable at Gandhinagar, as a processing fee at the time of verification.
The committee has also restated the position on OCI card holders. Following the Supreme Court judgment of 3 February 2023 in Writ Petition (C) No. 891 of 2021, OCI card holders are eligible for the NRI, management and government quotas. Under Gujarat's own rules, though, a candidate seeking a government or management quota seat must have done Class 10 and Class 12 at schools in Gujarat and must either be born in Gujarat or hold Gujarat domicile.
Candidates with disabilities. Book the online appointment during registration to appear before the Medical Board, and carry your disability certificate to the designated civil hospital for assessment.
What to do now
- Buy the PIN early. The committee itself advises using a broadband connection, because failed transactions are common at the deadline.
- Register by 4:00 PM on 4 September, then book your help centre slot immediately.
- Do not leave verification to 5 September. Centres close at noon that day.
- If you paid for a PIN in Round 1 and stalled, go straight to a help centre. You do not need to pay again.
Before you rank colleges, it helps to know where a rank like yours has landed before. We track Gujarat closing ranks by college and category, our Gujarat counselling guide follows the rounds, and you can test a rank on our college predictor.
