PDM Dental College is being closed, and the students already studying there will be moved to other dental colleges in Haryana. The Directorate of Medical Education and Research has put out a public notice setting out the sequence, and it starts at the centre.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, by an order dated 23 July 2026, withdrew recognition of the college under the provisions of the National Dental Commission Act, 2023, ordered the closure of PDM Dental College, and directed that its BDS and MDS students be shifted to other dental colleges in Haryana.
The state followed. By an order dated 7 and 12 August 2026, the Haryana government withdrew the no objection certificate issued to PD Memorial Religious and Education Association, Sarai, Aurangabad, Bahadurgarh, Jhajjar, for its BDS and MDS courses.
What happens to the students
The state government will conduct offline counselling at Pt. B.D. Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak, to adjust the affected students into other recognised dental colleges in Haryana. The date, time and detailed schedule for that counselling have not been announced yet. The directorate says they will be notified separately.
That is the part worth watching. An adjustment counselling with no published date can be announced at short notice, and the notice itself asks candidates to keep checking the official websites rather than wait to be contacted.
What it means if you are filling choices now
Haryana’s BDS counselling for 2026-27 is running. A college whose recognition has been withdrawn and whose NOC has been cancelled is not a seat you can be admitted against, so PDM Dental should not be part of your preference list this season.
The wider point matters more than this one college. Recognition can be withdrawn between the publication of a seat matrix and the round in which a seat is actually allotted, and the seat matrix is not by itself proof that a college is in good standing on the day you fill your choices. Checking the authority’s notice page before you lock a preference list costs a few minutes.
What to do now
- If you are an affected BDS or MDS student at PDM Dental, watch both official sites daily. The counselling date will come with little notice.
- Keep your academic records, fee receipts and admission documents together and ready for an offline verification.
- If you are a NEET UG 2026 candidate filling Haryana choices, leave PDM Dental out.
