The Directorate General of Medical Education and Training (DGME), Uttar Pradesh has opened Round 1 online registration for NEET UG 2026 counselling. It is for state-quota MBBS and BDS seats in the government and private medical and dental colleges and medical universities of Uttar Pradesh, in line with the MCC schedule.
Round 1 registration dates
- Online registration and document upload: 7 August 2026 (12:00 noon) to 12 August 2026 (2:00 PM).
- Registration fee and security-money deposit: 7 August 2026 (12:00 noon) to 12 August 2026 (5:00 PM).
- Register on the official portal, upneet.gov.in (updates also on dgme.up.gov.in).
Fees and security money
- Registration fee: ₹2,000, non-refundable.
- Security money (refundable, deposited online): government medical/dental seats ₹30,000; private medical seats ₹2,00,000; private dental seats ₹1,00,000.
- To be considered for both government and private medical seats, deposit ₹2,00,000; for both government and private dental, ₹1,00,000.
- The security money is not adjusted against tuition fee. Pay from your own bank account — the refund is returned to the same account after all rounds.
Round 1 Free Exit
Candidates allotted a seat in Round 1 have a Free Exit: if you do not take admission after the Round 1 allotment, your security money is refunded, and you can still take part in Round 2 or Round 3.
Documents and process
- Choose a nodal centre for online document verification during registration.
- Upload: High School marksheet/certificate, Intermediate marksheet, reservation certificate (OBC/SC/ST/EWS or Ex-Army/NCC/Freedom Fighter/PwD, if claimed) and domicile certificate (if applicable).
- Reservation certificates must be in the UP format from a UP competent authority; the EWS certificate must be dated 1 April 2026 or later. Reserved candidates from other states are treated as unreserved.
- Fill choices by priority (only colleges you want) and lock your choices — if you don’t lock, you are dropped from allotment, and locked choices cannot be changed.
- Government-college allottees report at the allotted college; private-college allottees report at the government-designated nodal centre.

What to do now
- Register and upload your documents on upneet.gov.in before 12 August, 2:00 PM; pay the ₹2,000 fee and security money by 5:00 PM.
- Deposit security money from your own bank account, and keep your UP domicile, category (EWS dated on/after 1 April 2026) and other certificates ready.
- Fill and lock your choices; watch upneet.gov.in for the choice-filling and allotment dates.
