The Directorate of Higher and Technical Education has confirmed additional MBBS and BDS seats for Arunachal Pradesh candidates and added them to the round 1 seat matrix. The seats were confirmed by the Government of India on 22 August 2026 and will be available for allotment in the first round itself.
Read this part carefully
Because the matrix changed, all previously locked choices have been unlocked. If you locked your preferences and considered the job done, your list is no longer locked.
Candidates who want to update their preferences may modify and lock their choices until midnight on 25 August 2026 after logging into their individual accounts. The circular repeats the advice to lock your final choices and keep a printout for future reference.
Even if you do not want to change anything, you still need to log in and lock again. An unlocked list at the deadline is the most avoidable way to lose a round.
The seats that were added
| Course | College | Total | Open (Cat I) | APST (Cat II) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| MBBS | Lt. Sh. Lakhiram Agarwal Memorial Govt. Medical College, Raigarh, Chhattisgarh | 2 | 0 | 2 |
| MBBS | Pt. J. N. M. Medical College, Raipur, Chhattisgarh | 2 | 1 | 1 |
| BDS | K.G. Dental College, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh | 1 | 0 | 1 |
| BDS | Dr. R. Ahmed Dental College, Kolkata, West Bengal | 2 | 1 | 1 |
| BDS | Government Dental College, Raipur, Chhattisgarh | 1 | 0 | 1 |
Four MBBS and four BDS seats in total, distributed between the Open and APST categories as per the state’s reservation policy.
Why the colleges are in other states
Arunachal Pradesh has no medical or dental college of its own, so the state’s candidates compete for quota seats reserved for them in colleges elsewhere. That is why every seat on this list sits in Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh or West Bengal. It also means your allotted college will be outside the state, and the reporting and admission formalities happen there.
