The State Counselling Committee at the Directorate of Medical Education has issued a press note explaining how allotment, document verification and admission fit together in Chhattisgarh’s NEET UG 2026 state counselling.
The central point
Being on the merit list, or even being allotted a seat at an institution, does not make your admission final. Under Rule 7 of the Chhattisgarh Medical, Dental and Physiotherapy Graduate Admission Rules 2025, the online counselling process covers registration, setting the order of preference, allotment, scrutiny of original documents, and admission. All five, not the first three.
The admission process is treated as complete only after the candidate produces the required original documents and is found eligible on scrutiny.
What gets checked
During the eligibility examination the committee verifies the domicile certificate, the category or cadre certificate, and the other documents required under the rules. The note is direct about the consequence: incomplete documents, a missing required certificate, or incorrect information can leave a candidate ineligible for admission.
It also points to Rule 12, under which an admission obtained by giving false or incorrect information, or by concealing relevant facts, is open to action, as is an admission later found to have been obtained through an error or omission.
Where the dates will appear
A separate timetable for document scrutiny and admission will be published on the Directorate’s website, cgdme.in. Candidates are told to watch for it and to appear at the concerned institution or admission centre at the prescribed time with all their original documents.
On rumours
The committee asks candidates not to act on rumours, confusion or misleading information about the counselling. Queries and complaints should go through the “Candidates Grievances and Query Redressal System” available under Candidate Login on the official counselling portal, or by email to the counselling branch at cgdme.counseling@gmail.com.
That is worth taking literally. In a week when almost every state has revised its schedule, second-hand dates circulating on social media are more likely to be wrong than right.
