  • Karnataka releases NEET UG 2026 KEA seat matrix (MBBS & BDS)

    The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has published the NEET UG 2026 seat matrix for Karnataka state-quota MBBS and BDS admissions. It lists the category-wise seats in every participating college, which candidates use to plan their choices before locking their KEA options.

    What the seat matrix shows

    • Seats in each medical and dental college, split across the general, rural and Kannada-medium categories and the reserved categories (SC, ST, C-1, 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B) and special quotas (Hyderabad-Karnataka, GMP, NRI, minority, defence, PwD and others).
    • The figures are the KEA state-quota share — the 15% All India Quota seats in each college are counselled separately by MCC.
    • Newly added colleges appear this year, including G R Medical College Hospital & Research Centre. We have added the new colleges to our Karnataka college list so your rank check covers them.

    What to do now

    • Read the seat matrix for the colleges you are targeting and note the seats in your category.
    • Order your KEA choices by preference and lock them within the KEA schedule.
    • Keep your category, rural, Kannada-medium and other supporting certificates ready for verification.

  • Odisha NEET UG 2026: choose Gen-EWS or SEBC, not both

    The Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) has issued an advisory for NEET UG 2026 candidates who will take part in Odisha state-quota counselling. Candidates who are eligible for both the Gen-EWS category and the state’s SEBC (Socially and Educationally Backward Classes) category must choose only one of the two, and the choice is final.

    This applies to candidates who applied under Gen-EWS in their NEET UG 2026 form but also hold a valid SEBC certificate from the competent authority of the Government of Odisha. No candidate can claim benefits under more than one reservation category at the same time.

    What you must do

    • Declare one category: during OJEE state-counselling registration, clearly declare your final choice — Gen-EWS or SEBC. It is used for the state merit list and seat allotment.
    • Document proof: if you choose SEBC, upload and produce a valid SEBC certificate issued by the competent authority of the Government of Odisha.
    • The choice is binding: the category you pick at registration is treated as final. No request for a category change will be accepted later, under any circumstances.

    Which to pick

    Weigh the two before you register. Gen-EWS and SEBC have different cut-offs and seat shares, so the better choice depends on your rank and the seats you are targeting.   • Chhattisgarh NEET UG 2026 Round 1 counselling is open

    Round 1 of the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Chhattisgarh NEET UG 2026 state-quota counselling for MBBS and BDS is now open. Online registration, fee payment and choice filling started on 9 August 2026 at 11:00 AM on cgmcc.admissions.nic.in.

    Round 1 schedule (tentative)

    • Online registration and fee payment: 9 August to 16 August 2026.
    • Choice filling and locking: 9 August to 17 August 2026.
    • Merit list and NRI eligible list: 18 August 2026.
    • Seat allotment: 19 August 2026. Result: 20 August 2026.
    • Scrutiny and admission at the allotted institute: 21 August to 27 August 2026.

    Registration fee

    • General / OBC: ₹1,000. SC / ST: ₹500. NRI: ₹10,000. The fee is non-refundable.
    • Security / registration deposit money is shown in the official seat-matrix document.

    NRI candidates: document deadline extended

    • The last date to submit NRI eligibility documents is extended to 16 August 2026, 5:00 PM (earlier 13 August).
    • Email all original NRI documents as a single colour-scanned, readable PDF to the revised address cgneetugnri2026@gmail.com (this replaces cgneetugnri@gmail.com), with cgdme.counseling@gmail.com in CC.
    • Black-and-white or illegible scans will not be accepted.

    Seats on offer

    The Round 1 seat matrix covers 21 MBBS colleges (about 2,875 seats) and 6 BDS colleges across the state, including Pt. JNM Medical College, Raipur, CIMS Bilaspur and the government colleges at Rajnandgaon, Jagdalpur, Ambikapur, Raigarh, Kanker, Korba, Mahasamund and Durg, along with private medical and dental colleges. Seats are set aside for the 15% All India Quota and a 3% central pool; the rest fill through state-quota counselling on a 200-point reservation roster.

    • Keep your domicile, category and NEET UG 2026 documents ready for scrutiny at the allotted college.

  • Kerala KEAM 2026: defect applicants list out, fix by 10 August

    The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala has published the KEAM 2026 list of defect applicants for admission to medical and medical allied courses. Candidates on this list have defects in their reservation-category documents (including NRI) or nativity documents, and must fix them by 12:00 noon on 10 August 2026.

    What to do

    • Log in to the KEAM 2026 Candidate Portal on cee.kerala.gov.in with your application number and password.
    • Open the Memo Details menu on your profile page to see the exact defect in your documents.
    • Upload the correct documents online to rectify each defect.
    • The online facility to submit your NEET (UG) 2026 score is also open on the same website till the same deadline.

    The deadline is firm

    The last date for both rectifying defects and submitting the NEET score is 10 August 2026, 12:00 noon. CEE has said no later chance will be given. Candidates who do not fix defects in their nativity documents in time will lose their communal and special reservation benefits.

  • Bihar UGMAC 2026: registration opens 10 August, seat matrix out

    The Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) has opened UGMAC 2026, the state-quota counselling for MBBS and BDS admissions, and released the Round 1 seat matrix. Candidates with a Bihar domicile who qualified NEET UG 2026 apply through UGMAC 2026 for these seats.

    Registration and choice filling

    • Online registration, application and choice filling open on 10 August 2026 and run to 14 August 2026, on bceceboard.bihar.gov.in.
    • You register and fill choices once; the same locked list feeds Round 1 and Round 2. Fill your choices in order of preference and lock them.

    Fees and security deposit

    • Registration / counselling fee (non-refundable): ₹1,200; ₹600 for SC/ST and disabled-quota candidates at government colleges. For private colleges, all categories pay ₹1,200.
    • Refundable security deposit at registration: government ₹10,000 (₹5,000 for SC/ST/BC/EBC); private medical ₹2,00,000; private dental ₹50,000. It is refunded after all rounds if you join your allotted seat or are never allotted.

    Rounds and Round 1 free exit

    • There are four rounds: Round 1, Round 2, Round 3 and a Stray Vacancy round.
    • Round 1 has a free exit: if you do not want your Round 1 allotted seat, you can exit without losing your security deposit and still take part in Round 2.
    • The up-gradation option carries through Round 1 to Round 2 to Round 3. Admission becomes binding from Round 2 — if you join a Round 2 seat and then drop out, the security deposit is forfeited. There is no service bond.

    MBBS seats

    • Government colleges: 1,710 MBBS seats across 12 colleges (1,392 to state-quota counselling after the All India Quota and constitutional-nominee seats are set aside).
    • Private colleges: 2,450 MBBS seats across 14 colleges, including management, minority and NRI seats.

    BDS seats

    • Government: Patna Dental College, 40 BDS seats.
    • Private: 200 BDS seats across three colleges (Buddha Institute of Dental Sciences, Patna 100; Mithila Minority Dental College, Darbhanga 60; Sarjug Dental College, Laheriasarai 40).

  • MCC opens Round 1 reset registration for NEET UG 2026

    The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has opened a reset registration option for Round 1 of NEET UG 2026 All India Quota counselling. Candidates who entered wrong details or picked the wrong options while registering can now correct them, up to 11:00 AM on 12 August 2026.

    This is for the 15% All India Quota and the deemed, central, AFMC and ESIC seats that MCC counsels. It does not apply to state-quota counselling, which each state runs on its own portal.

    What the reset option does

    • If you made a mistake during registration (wrong personal details or a wrong option), you can unlock your form and fix it.
    • Use the unlock / reset registration option after you log in on the MCC portal, mcc.nic.in.
    • Last time to reset: 11:00 AM on 12 August 2026. After this, your registration details are locked as they stand.

    Who should use it

    Only candidates who spot an error in what they have already entered. If your registration is correct, you do not need to do anything. Check your details carefully before the window closes, because wrong information can affect your allotment.

  • UP NEET UG 2026 Round 1 registration opens today

    The Directorate General of Medical Education and Training (DGME), Uttar Pradesh has opened Round 1 online registration for NEET UG 2026 counselling. It is for state-quota MBBS and BDS seats in the government and private medical and dental colleges and medical universities of Uttar Pradesh, in line with the MCC schedule.

    Round 1 registration dates

    • Online registration and document upload: 7 August 2026 (12:00 noon) to 12 August 2026 (2:00 PM).
    • Registration fee and security-money deposit: 7 August 2026 (12:00 noon) to 12 August 2026 (5:00 PM).
    • Register on the official portal, upneet.gov.in (updates also on dgme.up.gov.in).

    Fees and security money

    • Registration fee: ₹2,000, non-refundable.
    • Security money (refundable, deposited online): government medical/dental seats ₹30,000; private medical seats ₹2,00,000; private dental seats ₹1,00,000.
    • To be considered for both government and private medical seats, deposit ₹2,00,000; for both government and private dental, ₹1,00,000.
    • The security money is not adjusted against tuition fee. Pay from your own bank account — the refund is returned to the same account after all rounds.

    Round 1 Free Exit

    Candidates allotted a seat in Round 1 have a Free Exit: if you do not take admission after the Round 1 allotment, your security money is refunded, and you can still take part in Round 2 or Round 3.

    Documents and process

    • Choose a nodal centre for online document verification during registration.
    • Upload: High School marksheet/certificate, Intermediate marksheet, reservation certificate (OBC/SC/ST/EWS or Ex-Army/NCC/Freedom Fighter/PwD, if claimed) and domicile certificate (if applicable).
    • Reservation certificates must be in the UP format from a UP competent authority; the EWS certificate must be dated 1 April 2026 or later. Reserved candidates from other states are treated as unreserved.
    • Fill choices by priority (only colleges you want) and lock your choices — if you don’t lock, you are dropped from allotment, and locked choices cannot be changed.
    • Government-college allottees report at the allotted college; private-college allottees report at the government-designated nodal centre.

  • Jharkhand NEET UG 2026 counselling: apply Aug 7-11

    The Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB) has released the NEET UG 2026 counselling schedule for MBBS, BDS and BHMS seats in the government and private colleges of Jharkhand. It works in two steps: first apply to get on the state merit list, then register and fill choices for Round 1.

    Who can apply: you must be a citizen of India and a local/permanent resident of Jharkhand to claim the state-quota seats, and hold a valid NEET UG 2026 rank.

    Step 1 — Application for the state merit list

    • Online application form submission: 7 August to 11 August 2026 (up to 3:00 PM).
    • Editing of the application form: 11 August 2026 (3:01 PM to midnight).
    • Publication of the state merit list: 12 August 2026.
    • Application fee: ₹500 for General/EWS/BC-I/BC-II; ₹250 for SC/ST and female candidates of all categories; free for Divyang (PwD) candidates.

    Step 2 — Round 1 registration and choice filling

    • Online registration and choice filling for seat allotment: 13 August to 19 August 2026.
    • Editing of filled choices, if needed: 20 August 2026.
    • Seat allotment and provisional allotment letter: 22 to 28 August 2026.
    • Document verification and admission at the college: 23 to 28 August 2026.

    Counselling runs over four rounds (1st, 2nd, 3rd and a stray-vacancy round). Do not skip Step 1 — you cannot fill choices in Round 1 unless you have applied and made the merit list first.

  • Assam NEET UG 2026 provisional list out; verify and get ready

    The Directorate of Medical Education, Assam (DME Assam) has published the provisional list of NEET UG 2026 candidates from Assam for admission to first-year MBBS and BDS courses in the state’s government medical and dental colleges under the state quota. The list is on the official website, dme.assam.gov.in.

    Candidates from Assam who appeared for NEET UG 2026 from another state will be added to the provisional list in due course. Admission is governed by the Medical and Dental Colleges of Assam (Regulation of Admission into First-Year MBBS/BDS Courses) Rules, 2017, as amended up to 2026.

    What candidates must do now

    • Check your name and details on the provisional list at dme.assam.gov.in.
    • Keep ready all the annexures listed in the Admission Rules and your other counselling documents (they can be downloaded from the website).
    • Submit the schooling proforma showing your schooling record from Class 1 to Class 12.
    • If you claim a special category, submit the special-quota application form.
    • If your name or category needs correction or inclusion, use the category-change / name-inclusion proforma.

    The date for online counselling for MBBS/BDS admission (session 2026) will be published separately on dme.assam.gov.in, so check the site regularly.

  • Maharashtra NEET UG 2026 CAP registration open; apply by Aug 12

    The Maharashtra State CET Cell has opened online registration for NEET UG 2026 admissions to MBBS and BDS through the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) for 2026-27. Registration and session apply run from 6 August to 12 August 2026 (up to 11:59 PM).

    Admission to Government, Government-aided, Municipal Corporation, private unaided and other notified medical and dental colleges is on your NEET UG 2026 merit. Registration alone does not confer a right to admission — it is subject to eligibility and document verification.

    Key points

    • Online registration and session apply: 6 to 12 August 2026, up to 11:59 PM.
    • Eligibility: qualified in NEET UG 2026; admission on NEET merit.
    • Read the official Information Brochure carefully before submitting the form — it has the eligibility, reservation and counselling rules.
    • NRI candidates have a separate eligibility and registration process (Notice No. 04, linked below).
    • All updates, schedules and CAP round notifications will be posted on the official admission portal.
