The Karnataka Examinations Authority has published the college-wise fee structure for medical and dental seats for the 2026-27 academic year. The dental rates are set by Government Order No. MED 207 RGU 2026 dated 14 August 2026. The medical rates come from two separate orders: MED 218 RGU 2026 dated 14 August 2026 and MED 213 RGU 2026 dated 13 August 2026.
What the tables contain
Each college is listed with four separate rates: the government seat fee, the private seat fee, the management seat fee and the NRI fee. Colleges are also marked by type, which is what determines which of those columns actually applies to you.
On the dental side, the government colleges charge a single government rate with no private, management or NRI seats. Government Dental College at Victoria Hospital Premises, Bangalore and Government Dental College and Research Institute, Bellary are both at Rs. 49,350. The ESIC Dental College at Gulbarga is at Rs. 1,09,350.
Across private and minority dental colleges the government seat fee is a uniform Rs. 95,308, while the private, management and NRI rates vary widely by college. Among the ranges published, private-seat dental fees run from about Rs. 2.87 lakh to Rs. 7.45 lakh a year depending on the institution.
What the medical table contains
The MBBS table lists 68 colleges. Government colleges charge Rs. 64,350 a year on the government seat, and the two ESI medical colleges at Rajajinagar and Gulbarga charge Rs. 1,09,350. Many government colleges also carry a management and NRI rate of Rs. 25,09,350.
Private and minority colleges sit at a uniform Rs. 1,53,571 government-seat rate with a Rs. 12,00,117 private rate, and management and NRI rates that run from about Rs. 25 lakh to Rs. 44 lakh a year. Deemed universities are higher again, with several at Rs. 45 lakh on the management and NRI seats.
Read the seat type, not the headline number
The single most common mistake is reading a college’s lowest published figure and assuming it is what you will pay. The government seat rate applies only to seats allotted under the government quota through KEA counselling. If your rank reaches the same college under a private, management or NRI seat, the applicable figure is several times higher.
One dental college in the list, Farooquia Dental College in Mysore, carries a note that its affiliation is subject to the final outcome of W.P. No. 20558/2023 and to approval by the DCI or apex body.
