The Tamil Nadu Medical Selection Committee has opened Round 1 registration for NEET UG 2026 government-quota and management-quota MBBS and BDS admissions, and has published the tentative vacancy position (as on 13 August 2026) for each college.
Round 1 tentative vacancy
- Government MBBS: about 4,048 seats across 36 government medical colleges (government quota), plus 90 at the ESIC medical college, Chennai.
- Self-financing and private MBBS: about 3,350 seats in self-financing colleges and 575 in private colleges, across government-quota, management and NRI categories.
- Dental: 197 government BDS seats and about 1,662 self-financing BDS seats.
The committee has also released the provisional lists of eligible candidates for the government quota, the 7.5% government-school quota, IRT ward quota, management quota, CMC Vellore categories, linguistic-minority (Malayalam and Telugu), Christian-minority and NRI categories.
What to do now
- Register on the official portal and complete your application for the government or management quota.
- Confirm your name and category in the relevant provisional eligible-candidates list.
