Tamil Nadu NEET UG 2026: special-category allotments out

Tamil Nadu has begun its NEET UG 2026 MBBS and BDS counselling. The Selection Committee has published the first provisional allotment lists, and they cover the special reservation categories. The lists went up on the official site on 14 August 2026; the allotment itself is dated 13 August 2026.

Four lists are out. In all, 746 candidates have been given a provisional seat in a government medical or dental college.

What was released

  • 7.5% government-school quota: 614 candidates, across 81 medical and dental colleges. This quota is for students who studied Classes 6 to 12 in a Tamil Nadu government school.
  • Persons with Disability (PWD): 106 candidates.
  • Eminent Sports Person: 15 candidates.
  • Children of Ex-Servicemen: 11 candidates.

Each list shows the candidate’s state merit rank, application number, name, community and the college allotted. The 7.5% list also shows the total marks. These are seats in the Tamil Nadu government counselling stream, which is separate from the all-India quota run by the MCC. If you want to see how these ranks compare with last year, our page on Tamil Nadu MBBS closing ranks and the matching BDS closing ranks lay out the numbers college by college.

Please read: these are provisional

A provisional allotment is not a confirmed seat. The Selection Committee can revise the list, and you still have to complete the next steps before the seat is yours. Do not stop your other options on the strength of a provisional line. The general merit rounds of Tamil Nadu counselling, which fill the bulk of the seats, come after this special-category step.

What to do now

  • Open the correct list below and search for your application number or rank.
  • If your name is there, log in to the official portal and download your allotment order when it is issued.
  • Watch the portal for the reporting and joining dates, and for any grievance window on the provisional list.
  • Keep your certificates ready — NEET score card, Class 10 and 12 marksheets, community certificate, and the special-category proof (government-school study, disability, sports, or ex-serviceman certificate).
