The Directorate of Medical Education has published the first-round allotment for MP State Combined NEET UG counselling, alongside a college-wise opening and closing rank list. The allotment was originally scheduled for 20 August and was postponed after the MCC revised its counselling schedule.
We parsed the full rank file, all 541 college-and-category rows, to work out where things actually closed.
The headline numbers
6,169 seats allotted across 47 institutions, 21 government and 26 private.

Note the first two lines. In this round Madhya Pradesh allotted more private MBBS seats than government ones, which is worth knowing if you are ranking on the assumption that government seats dominate the state’s intake.
Open category, no horizontal claim
These are the numbers most candidates are looking for. “Open” here means the UR category with no additional claim such as PwD, government school or freedom fighter.

The private MBBS opening rank is the interesting one
Private MBBS opens at AIR 24,601, comfortably better than the 55,593 at which government MBBS closed. Candidates with ranks good enough for a government seat took private ones instead.
That is a preference signal, not an anomaly. Some candidates rank a particular private college in a particular city above a government college elsewhere in the state, and the allotment follows the order they filled. If you are ordering your own list, it is a reminder that the government-versus-private line is not automatically the first thing to sort on.

A closing rank of 3,24,519 for ST does not mean a weaker college. It reflects a smaller candidate pool competing for a reserved block of seats, which is how reservation is designed to work. Compare within your own category, never across categories.
NRI seats
319 NRI seats were allotted, 285 of them MBBS, running from AIR 1,48,914 all the way to 9,92,621 with scores from 460 down to 213. That spread is the clearest illustration in this data of what an NRI seat buys: entry at a rank that would not reach a state-quota seat anywhere.
Two things to keep in mind
This allotment is provisional. The document is titled a provisional first-round allotment list, so seats can still move.
Every row in the rank file is MP domicile. These figures describe the state-quota round for Madhya Pradesh domicile candidates, not the All India Quota seats at the same colleges, which the MCC allots separately.
